Former Hawkeye tight end CJ Fiedorowicz has primarily been used as a blocker during his short NFL career, but the Johnsburg, IL native made his presence felt in Houston’s victory over division rival Tennessee yesterday. Fiedorowicz was on the field much more often than usual, regularly at the same time as former Hawkeye d-lineman Karl Klug. Fiedorowicz definitely had the better game of the two ex-Hawks, as he doubled his previous season total in catches, recording four for 48 yards, one of which proved to be a difference maker touchdown in the game.
Look for Fiedorowicz to get more involved in the Texans offense as QB Brock Osweiler continues to get adjusted to coach Bill O’Brien‘s system. Fiedorowicz doesn’t necessarily have the same speed or playmaking ability as a guy like Rob Gronkowski, but he does have the size and clearly the hands to make an impact for the young Texans.
Be on the lookout next Sunday for coverage of a couple of ex-Hawks as ANF and the NFL will be in attendance at US Bank Stadium for Texans vs. Vikings.
